Sun Hall Hotel

Sun Hotel is right by the marina, an easy walk from the beach and main town, yet away from the bustle. The balcony doors opened onto a view across half the city and half the harbour. The view was lovely and made the room feel more spacious, even though the photos made it look closer to the harbour than it really is. We had a beautiful Family Superior Room. The main bed was exceptionally comfortable, with a great mattress, lovely pillows and a cosy duvet. The single bed felt rickety because it didn't have a proper frame. The bathroom was stylish and spotless on arrival, with great lighting, a powerful shower that heated quickly, and generously sized, very soft towels. Housekeeping deserves credit too: each time they made up the room, it felt brand new, neatly tidied and fully restocked. There were plenty of thoughtful extras, including tea, coffee, a L’OR coffee machine and a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge. Breakfast had lots of variety for different tastes and dietary needs: alternative milks, the usual staples, a pastry heater, fruit juice mixers, a coffee machine and a good range of teas. Fresh cheeses, salmon, mackerel and assorted fruits were a nice touch. Staff kept everything topped up, but their interactions felt minimal and a little impersonal. The welcome at check-in was cold, with no smiles or warmth, and made our arrival feel like an inconvenience. The room soon made up for it, but the hotel still falls short on hospitality. A warmer greeting and more engaging staff would make this a five-star experience. We're planning to return this year and hope to give it that last star next time.

The sea view from our room was fantastic, and it was very clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower. We stayed in December and the room was warm. The breakfast had plenty of good choices, and having an electric kettle with tea and coffee was a nice touch. The location is central and close to the bus station, and the staff were friendly. The WiFi, though, was very weak.

The kettle and tea and coffee were a nice extra, while the sea view was wonderful. Everything was immaculately clean, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was refreshing. Staff were friendly, and the location is central and near the bus station. The WiFi was pretty slow.

The room was a good size, and the harbour view was beautiful, but the price was very high for the condition of the place. The walls were dirty, the internet was very bad, and the ironing board was burned and damaged in the middle, so it was impossible to iron clothes. The wardrobe door was broken, the shower pressure was very weak, the water heater was very old and heated water extremely slowly, and some lights didn't work properly. Service was poor and reception wasn't friendly. I won't come back. I hope they fix these issues as soon as possible.
