The White Pearl Apartment

The apartment is in a great spot near the sea and entertainment area, and it has a fridge, washing machine, microwave, electric stove and kettle. It was maintained, but missing basics got in the way of enjoying our week there. The sheets and towels weren’t clean, so we spent time and money buying our own. There were no spare pillows or blanket, no large mirror or bedside lamp, and no switch by the bed to turn off the bedroom light, so you have to get up and walk to the door. Hot water runs on a timer for up to four hours after you turn it on, which meant waiting for a shower if we came back in the evening. The bathroom window doesn’t open and there’s no ventilation fan. There wasn’t even toilet paper, so we had to buy that too. If the owners sort these things out, it could be a really pleasant place to stay.

We didn’t sleep well during our week in the apartment. The bedding was old and worn, and there was only one blanket and one spare pillow, with no pillowcase for it. We had to buy missing bedding and towels ourselves. There was no toilet paper or other basic toiletries, no full-length mirror, and no ventilation in the shower. The room does have a washing machine, oven and fridge, and it’s within walking distance of the beach and central station. The directions we got were very clear.

We’d paid in full, then the landlord cancelled our booking a week before the holiday and left us without an apartment right before the trip. That was really bad of him. Thanks so much for your understanding and for putting us through this.

A quiet spot in Larnaca, only a short walk from the centre. The place was clean and nice, and the air conditioning, kitchen facilities and washing machine were all fine.
