Crowne Plaza Limassol by IHG

We had a good stay, and the room on the 5th floor was pleasant, with a lovely sea view. Breakfast was decent, reception were helpful, and the bar team gave truly top-notch service. A couple of small requests left a bad impression. We wanted to open wine in our room and found there was no corkscrew. Room service said it would cost €5, so I went down to the ground floor bar, where they helped without hesitation. Later we asked room service for two forks and were told there'd be another charge. At a hotel in this category, I expected basic items like these to be part of the stay. We didn't come to Crowne Plaza to buy forks and corkscrews. Everything else met expectations, but as a loyal Diamond member I expected a higher level of service. A solid four-star hotel, and a good-quality one overall.

We spent most of our time in the sauna so we wouldn't get sick from the cold water. In February, during winter, I expected warm pools for a cosy spa visit, but there's only one indoor pool and its water was cold. We couldn't believe it, and it was a big disappointment. The place itself could be nice: the lighting creates a good atmosphere, and they provide towels and water. They shouldn't try to save money by not heating the pool. If they can't afford warm water in a spa, they shouldn't keep it open.

That lovely room view made our four nights over Easter even more special, and the staff went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. There was some noise from the construction site next to the hotel, which was the one downside, but it was a great way to start the summer season. We'd happily come back.

We got a complimentary upgrade to a sea view room, and waking up to that view was lovely. The hotel is big and nice, with friendly, helpful staff. There is construction nearby, so you can hear it during the day, but it wasn't very disturbing.
