The rooms feel a little old-fashioned, but they were tidy and clean, and the bathroom had a tub with toiletries provided. You can ask reception for an iron or a charger adapter. The staff member at reception was very friendly and spoke excellent English. Best of all, the beach is just around the corner.

The room had a small terrace with a nice sea view, a bathtub, and a fridge that worked well. We were welcomed by a very helpful gentleman, and the barman was friendly too. Nearby there’s a beach, a laundromat, a 24-hour convenience store, and a few cafes. The biggest problem was the noise. Sound carried from the cleaners across the hall and from every conversation in the adjoining room, which had a connecting door. The furniture was very dated, and we didn’t get one of the newer rooms mentioned in some reviews. There wasn’t a single spare outlet, so we unplugged the TV and used the extension cord we’d brought. Even the bedside lamps had odd plugs that weren’t UK standard. The indoor pool was very cold and shallow, only 1.20 m deep, and it felt colder than the sea in November when I checked. I didn’t use the gym, but it looked tiny and dated. Breakfast was bland with little variety, and the internet kept disconnecting.

The noise was a problem during our stay. People kept slamming doors, sometimes hard enough that the walls shook. The street was loud as well, though that seems typical of the area, and there were odd sounds in the bathroom, probably from upstairs or the plumbing. What bothered me most happened by the pool. A woman on staff followed me there and asked whether I had a room and what my name was, apparently because she found me suspicious. I briefly panicked when I couldn’t remember my room number, which may have made me look even more suspicious. She checked, then just walked past without explaining that it was routine or offering an apology. I’m not pretentious, but I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was a paying guest and expected basic courtesy, not to be followed as if I were a thief. I was staying with my husband on a business trip.

The hotel felt overpriced for the level of service and room upkeep. Furniture and rooms needed better maintenance, and the carpeted corridors clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Food was generally a good selection, though breakfast got repetitive and dinner wasn’t always satisfying. Half board was acceptable. The location is lovely, with seaside views and free parking nearby. At night, young people raced noisy cars around the neighborhood, which wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
