Aphrodite Sands

Our apartment was clean and in good condition, with a living room, two bedrooms, two toilets, a shower bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The quiet setting, pool and palm trees made it a relaxing place to stay. Peter had checked in about our arrival time before we came, then greeted us himself at around 1 a.m. and showed us around. When we had little issues, he responded right away and even brought washing tablets without being asked. It’s not a luxury hotel, but we felt it was good value and really enjoyed our stay.

The apartment had everything we needed for a lovely holiday, and the resort staff were quick to respond and helpful. I also tried two spa treatments, a facial and a full body massage with Kleopatra. They were the best treatments I’ve had. Helen, the massager, had such positive energy and was lovely to talk to. The massages were amazing.

Angeliki and Peter were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The apartments were a good standard, and the pool area looked very well cared for. The resort is close to the square, but still quiet. We had a great time and will definitely return.

The location in Mandria worked well for us because we had a rental car. Restaurants and a market were only a few minutes away by car. Without one, getting to the center or larger shops could mean walking 15-30 minutes in intense heat. We visited in the second week of September, when it was 30-35C each day. We weren’t sure about public transport, but the few buses we saw looked crowded. We stayed through AirBnB with two friends in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. Cleaning and room service weren’t included in the price, though we could have paid for them. The rooms were large and sunny, with lots of windows and separate AC in each bedroom. From the balcony we could see the football field across the street, and there was an orange tree just below it that made a nice touch for our late-night cocktails. The pool looked great, though we didn’t use it. The gym was adequately equipped and, in our experience, more useful than the average hotel gym, with a good range of weight machines, dumbbells up to 30kg and AC. Staff were friendly in our limited interactions. One thing to know: the water tasted funny, despite what the resort guide said, so we didn’t find it very drinkable. Toilet paper also shouldn’t be flushed.
