Ali takes care of everything himself, and there are only 13 rooms in this old stone-and-wood building, which was converted into a hotel 30 years ago. It’s basic, with no frills, but that’s part of its charm. The rooms have ensuite toilets and dependable hot water, plus WiFi. There are no modern key cards, just regular locks and keys. Breakfast is served in the inner garden. The location is excellent, about 100m from the Lokmaci shopping area and the crossing to the Republic of Cyprus. You can walk from the Kyrenia Gate bus stop, including if you arrive at Ercan Airport and come by Kibhas. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and Lefkosia town centre is close. At €36.50 a night, it’s truly affordable. Ali A. Koç handles reception, cleaning, maintenance, and cooking on his own, with real Northern Turkish hospitality. If you like old boutique hotels and a dedicated host who cares, I highly recommend it.

The owner is really nice and always out working in the garden. There are staff here too, and they clean every day. They did my laundry for 4 euros for a full machine, so I was able to wash all my clothes. There’s a water dispenser as well. Breakfast was really good, and I looked forward to it every morning, eating in the garden in the early sunshine. The needy little cat is very cute. The room had a lot of charm, and both the air conditioning and shower worked well. The location’s very good, about a 6-minute walk from the security checkpoint to the Greek side, with restaurants and the old town nearby.

Ali, the owner, made our stay especially nice. He was friendly and welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the border crossing, a great budget option for staying in Nicosia. Our room was clean and well equipped, and the breakfast included in the rate was really good.

It’s a quirky, unusual place that could use some modernising. The surrounding area isn’t very nice, and it’s right by the border, with the fences around the green line area very close.

The apartment was cozy and nice, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast and the location were all right. The only issue was the shower water stayed cold the whole time, maybe the heater is broken.
