In Nicosia’s walled city, Sky hotel is a nice option for staying in the area. The building has old architecture, though the rooms have been partly renovated. There’s a restaurant downstairs called Fanous, where you can get shisha, beer, and Greek or Lebanese food.

The staff were friendly and really helpful during my four-night stay, and the price was affordable for what I got. Sky Hotel is right in the heart of town. The bus station is a two-minute walk away, with buses to Larnaca, Limassol and other places in Cyprus. The tourist information centre is next door, and Ledra Street’s main shopping area and crossing between north and south Cyprus are also just two minutes away. There’s food downstairs at the hotel restaurant, with plenty of other restaurants and shops close by. I’d definitely stay again for the location, price and staff.

A lovely hotel with very nice staff. The security guard especially was kind, pleasant and helpful. He speaks clear English, which was really useful.
