The hotel’s location worked perfectly for my master’s thesis defense at Near East University, since it was close to my department. Reception staff knew enough English, and they were kind and respectful. The cleaning staff were understanding, and the kitchen staff were organized and kind as well. The room and bed were clean and tidy, and the people there are really lovely. I had a few issues: the power went out for more than 30 minutes in an incident beyond the hotel’s control, there’s no laundry service, and reception doesn’t have a cash-counting machine, which would make their work faster and smoother.

We came for medical reasons, and my parents found the room difficult to use. It seemed designed for students rather than someone with a disability, especially the shower, where my mum struggled to wash my disabled dad. We were also surprised to find reception on the ninth floor. Since we had no Wi-Fi for WhatsApp or international calls, we had to ask our taxi driver to contact reception for help. Breakfast was average and didn’t feel like a continental spread, just coffee, cereal, and a toast machine. The beds were okay to lie down on, but uncomfortable.

It’s okay if you don’t expect much. The location is good, inside the largest university in North Cyprus, so you can use the university facilities. Breakfast is ordinary, there’s no personal gym, and the rooms can be noisy. Nothing is complimentary, not even tea or coffee bags, and there aren’t any cups.

The hospitality was great, and the hygiene was excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay. I’ll definitely stay at Dorona hotel again on my next visit.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the room service good. The staff were very helpful, especially the lady on the evening shift. It was a great stay and well worth it. ❤
