Pandream Hotel Apartments

Our deluxe suite is gorgeous, and Pandream works really well for families. The pool area, though, is too small for the number of guests. Sunbeds are hard to find, with people putting towels down ridiculously early, so we ended up paying to sit on the beach. I’d like to be able to use the hotel facilities too. There are no lifts, and this time of year may not suit older guests.

Laura at the pool bar was wonderful and worked so hard looking after everyone. She brought us drinks and ice creams and really made our holiday. The pool itself was lovely too. For the service, she deserves five stars. Our studio on the second floor had no lift and was cramped and very dated. The pull-out bed for our daughter kept breaking, and the wardrobe smelled awful, musty and foul. There wasn’t enough room in it anyway, so our clothes stayed in suitcases on the floor all week. There was just one dressing table mirror for three of us, and the single pillow was flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The apartment gets one star from me, though Laura gets five.

We came for our son’s wedding and wanted somewhere with a family-run feel. Pandream delivered, and we’d go back in a heartbeat. The pool was a godsend in the Cyprus heat, and I loved the wall of inflatables guests could use. Laura at the pool bar looked after us beautifully, made amazing cocktails, and the food there was tasty and good value. Everyone we met, from reception to housekeeping, was friendly and easy to approach. Our room was massive, had plenty of storage for the three of us, and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. The veranda flooded like a paddling pool at first, but after my husband told reception, Mark the maintenance man quickly fixed an air-con pipe that wasn’t reaching the drain. We also asked for extra hangers for our wedding clothes and got them straight away. The location was great, a few minutes on foot from bars and restaurants. We particularly liked Fiesta, Tea for Two, The Rib Shack and Romeo’s, where the suckling pig and kleftico were incredible. Romeo’s takeaway, a couple of doors down, also did amazing kebabs and pizza. Happy Island was a longer walk but worth it for traditional Greek food. The harbour is gorgeous and a short drive away, with plenty of parking. Local taxis cost 12 euros for a small car or 14 for a larger one. Kings Restaurant at the harbour was excellent, with great food and staff, and worth the slightly higher price. Getting to the airport on departure day nearly turned into a disaster. The private taxi booked through our travel agent refused to take us because our cases wouldn’t fit. We’d arrived in a people carrier, but this time they sent a Mercedes that couldn’t fit three suitcases and hand luggage. While my husband and I were trying to work out what to do, I was also trying to calm our 12 year old autistic son. My husband went to reception, where a lovely woman whose name we didn’t catch quickly arranged a seven-seater. We paid for it, and it arrived promptly to take us to the airport. We loved our stay so much we’re already looking at booking again. Thank you, Pandream, for making it one of our best holidays.

We paid around €80 a night for a deluxe studio and got more than we expected. Reception is staffed 24/7, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. There’s a pleasant pool with a bar, plus local restaurants and shops nearby. The beach is a short walk away and the airport isn’t far. I’d recommend it for either a short visit or a longer stay, and it’s very good value.
