Alva Hotel Apartments

The price is hard to fault, it's extremely affordable compared with many other places, and my family has stayed here before. For the money, it's good value, and the location is great. The difference between the two blocks was striking. On the right-hand side by the main reception, the rooms felt modern, with working air-con, a pleasant lobby, a proper lift, and a much nicer atmosphere. The pool area was great too. Our room in the left-hand block wasn't as pleasant. That side seemed a bit run-down, with a gloomy lift that felt more like a staff or industrial one, and a downstairs room being used to store maintenance items. The air-con smelled of broccoli, made us feel unwell, and clearly needs servicing. The door-holding device was fitted so it blocked the wardrobe from opening fully, leaving us with hardly any storage. Really frustrating. We'd stay again for the value, but only in the right-hand block near reception. It's much more modern and comfortable.

The apartments are spacious and lovely, and the pool area was clean. Reception were very helpful, and the cleaning staff did an exceptional job. It's close to the beach and right by the strip, with local bars and restaurants. We'd go back. 5*

A well-run hotel with helpful, lovely reception staff, a decent breakfast, and a good pool area. It's right on the main tourist street. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay, and it was excellent value. It was an inexpensive BA package holiday, and half board cost only a little extra, so we chose that too. The hotel is dated in places, but the staff were friendly and chatted with us often. They also upgraded us to a larger, recently refurbished room. The pool was clean, and there were no problems with sunbeds or other guests' behaviour. I think we were there just before the season started, which may have helped.
