We stayed for ten days. The location is amazing, the reception staff were helpful, and the bar prices were very fair. When my son had an accident, reception got it sorted quickly. We mostly went to the beach, so the pool being shaded in the afternoon and the limited number of sunbeds in the sun didn’t bother us. The facilities are good, though we noticed the cleanliness could be better. The first morning, I asked reception for a bed topper and extra pillows because the children’s bed felt like rock, its sheet didn’t fit and they only had one pillow each. Our beds felt like rock too. The woman at reception was lovely and arranged it straight away. Our biggest complaint was room 204, directly opposite the maid services. The staff smoked in the room, and the smell was awful when we came out. Their loud conversations woke us every morning around 7:20-7:30 and bothered my two young children. I wouldn’t recommend that room to anyone, especially families. We didn’t want to make a fuss or move again after unpacking. We used the restaurant for lunch once: three club sandwiches and four cokes cost €50, which felt rather expensive, although the portions were big. We personally wouldn’t stay again, but that’s our preference.
We’ve been coming to The Melini with family for years and plan to keep doing so as long as we can. We’ve booked twice again this year and can’t wait. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and do everything they can to make the stay enjoyable. The apartments, whether studio or one bedroom, are modern, spacious and well equipped. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the strip and close to everything, with a beautiful beach just a couple of minutes’ walk away. Highly recommended.
The reception team were really helpful when my girlfriend and I arrived and didn’t like our first room. They found us a different one. Melini Suites is in a great spot, about five minutes on foot from Vrissi beach, which is stunning, especially around the middle. The water is light blue, almost like a giant swimming pool. There’s a supermarket right by the hotel, and the strip has plenty of bars, restaurants and other things to do. It comes close to perfect. My one suggestion would be to change the towels more often. We didn’t get the breakfast package, so I can’t really comment on the food. If you opt out of breakfast, it cost 10 EUR per person as of July 2025. Protaras is absolutely stunning. I’d strongly recommend walking towards fig tree bay and exploring the beaches around the area. 5/5
The half-board option was very good value, and we especially loved the homemade ice cream. Christina’s husband makes it, and the dark chocolate was the richest I’ve ever tasted anywhere, even after travelling a lot. When we asked for a shower aid for mobility, it arrived within an hour. Everyone was so friendly, Christina and the restaurant team in particular. The rooms were lovely too. We first heard about the hotel from people we met in Cape Verde eight weeks ago, and now we’re already looking forward to coming back later this year. What a wonderful place ❤️
We’re partway through a stay here with our extended family, and it’s been a good choice for an easy family break. The staff are polite and friendly, and the maids work really hard. There’s parking round the back if you have a hire car, plus a restaurant and ice cream places on site. The pool area is small, and sunbeds can be hard to get because people sometimes reserve them and then disappear, which is frustrating. You can hear some strip noise at night, but it hasn’t kept us awake. The Melini hotel suites are right on the strip, so the location is very central. For a decent price, that’s a real plus. Our rooms are clean, with comfortable beds, working air con included in the price, and enough storage for four, though the furnishings are sparse. The bathroom is a good size, with a bath-shower and large basin. Self-catering facilities are basic but usable.
