Ascos Coral Beach Hotel

The pool was the best part for us. It has breathtaking Mediterranean views, and we could always find sun loungers and umbrellas, whatever time we went. The location is another big draw, close to the main strip and a short distance from Coral Bay beach. From the balcony, you can watch some amazing sunsets. The hotel is advertised as four star, but by Irish standards it felt like an average three star at best. It's dated and poorly maintained in places. The rooms are spacious, though the beds and pillows weren't very comfortable. The buffet food was good overall. Drinks were a letdown: the menu is limited, the beer and wine were poor quality, and there were no international brands if you wanted a familiar drink. That was a real obstacle to our group enjoying evenings at the hotel. I don't drink alcohol and found the soft drinks fine. The staff were friendly and worked hard, and they dealt with the few small issues we had straight away. Rooms above or near the evening entertainment get noisy. If you can live with the hotel's faded look, it's a decent choice for people who love the pool.

The food was fantastic, some of the best I've had on holiday, and my son and I made good use of the gym and sauna. Both pools, indoors and out, were clean and well looked after. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and all the staff were professional, caring, and attentive. We arrived after 10 PM on 27/07/25, after dinner service had ended, but Loretta at reception kindly offered us dinner. She was so welcoming. Thank you, Loretta, and thanks to the housekeeping team too. I felt properly relaxed and got to enjoy the facilities, which meant a lot with how busy life usually is. It was one of my most unforgettable holidays. A very nice hotel, and I'd love to come back.

The welcome was great, and the waiters were so warm. Best, Jehu and Mariana were particular favorites, they were lovely. The cleaning staff were super friendly too, no complaints there. The meals were really good, though a bit more variety would have been nice. At night, you can hear quite a lot of music in the room, which was a shame. Also, Booking.com said there'd be a shuttle between the airport and hotel, but when we got there, that wasn't the case. A pity. Apart from that, GREAT.

The waiters were wonderful, and the entertainment team worked hard to keep guests happy. The grounds were maintained and the pool kept clean. The hotel has lovely facilities and plenty of potential, and the staff seemed to do their absolute best with what they had. Our stay was pleasant, though there were some downsides. The building is very out of date and needs a lot of maintenance. The carpets were appalling and need vacuuming, the floors need polishing, sliding doors wouldn't close or lock, and the elevators were absolutely disgusting. The hotel shop was extremely overpriced. All in all, this place needs updating.
