Bayview Villa - Pissouri Bay

We spent two weeks there in July 24, with seven of us including me. The location is hard to fault. The villa sits right by the restaurants and bars at Pissouri beach, and the beach itself, which is stunning, is a short walk away. The villa was immaculate, with all four bedrooms upstairs. Two had double beds and the other two had twin beds. The driveway fit two cars, and the carport kept them out of the sun. The outdoor pool area was a good size, and the owners provided several sun loungers and inflatables. The lighting around the outside table needs improving, though. We couldn't use it once it got dark. For me, the biggest issue was how the owners treated us. We paid over £4000 for two weeks, but the adults felt watched, and it seemed like even small things drew disapproval. There are stray cats around Pissouri that wander up looking for food. With the real feel at 40 degrees, we left out a saucer of water to help them. When the owners came to check on us, I felt as though I was being told off for the saucer, and they showed me a bowl none of us had seen. We were also frustrated when, after the villa had been cleaned, a note reminded us to wash sand off our feet. We did this every time we came back from the beach, and we keep the villas we rent to a high standard. The villa was cleaned and given new bedding after ten days, not seven, and we made sure it was looked after. I couldn't help assuming the owners did the cleaning themselves to save money and check up on us. They also put a wireless Bluetooth speaker we had taken downstairs back upstairs during the cleaning, which felt pointless and made us feel like we were intruding. The air conditioning was poor and needs upgrading. The units didn't cool the rooms properly. We've been to Cyprus every year for the past seven years, and this was the worst. After two days, most of us developed a cough from the air conditioning, so we stopped using it. That's never happened at any other villa I've rented around the world. Would I spend my hard-earned money to return? No. I've rented many villas, and they've been stunning, with owners who went above and beyond to give my family and me a great stay. This villa and its owners fell short of what we expected.

The hospitality is hard to match. Definitely worth giving it a try.
