Latchi and Polis are only a quick drive away, with some lovely places to eat. We could have walked, but it was too hot for us. The view from this quiet villa is brilliant, there's plenty of space, and the pool was good. We also made a friend of the local wildlife. The kitchen is well equipped, the internet is good, and the air conditioning works well in all the rooms, though it's on timers. That didn't bother us. A few things in the villa are looking tired and could use some maintenance. The drive is very steep, so be ready for that. The table tennis bats were broken and not much use. We had an issue with a shower, but someone came to fix it within 24 hours, which we were happy with.

The villa has a beach just a two-minute walk away, with clear water and a small kiosk selling drinks and ice cream. That was there in August. You can also walk to Latchi, where we liked Noma and The island. Polis was great and comes alive at night. We enjoyed Moustakalis and Chix chox too. Prices in Polis seemed more reasonable than in Latchi, and people were friendlier. Polis has the nearest supermarket, though there are some good kiosks on the main road between Latchi and Polis that sell fruit and beer. The bakery is well worth trying, and the staff are really helpful. Avoid going early in the morning, when everyone is loading up for a day at the beach. This is a gem of a villa, though having a car is ideal. The interior is a little dated, but the pool is great and it has everything you need. The BBQ is at the back of the property, so you can cook away from everyone. That could be nice or not, depending on whether you want peace or an audience. Enjoy.

The villa itself is lovely, but we were burgled while we were out for dinner, even though everything was locked. We only discovered the safe was gone when we were leaving for the airport. It contained £5000 worth of belongings, as well as our passports. We then realized they must have come back while we were asleep. We found evidence, and family members had heard bangs and people walking around. We'd thought it was family, but now we're certain the burglars returned for more. A few days earlier, we'd had a 'power cut'. The fuse board is at the end of the drive, and when we went to reset it, we heard rustling in the bushes. It didn't sound small, like a lizard, but we didn't think anything of it at the time. After the electrician came to fix the issue, the security alarm didn't work. All of it feels very suspicious. Now our family is very worried, and we're down a lot of money.

Just right for a getaway. Be aware, though, the climb up to the villa is steep.
