Mespilo House No. 4 was a lovely oasis in the Cypriot hinterland. We spent four nights there, and the renovation was done with great taste. The property also has the Tochni Taverna, where the delicious food draws local and international guests from well beyond the area. It has a very pleasant, family-run feel.

We went today and it was awful. The place was very dirty, with hair and dead insects, and the pool was full of leaves, though they insisted it had been cleaned. We left straight away and asked for our money back, but they didn’t refund the full amount.
