About this property
Maxmilian Lifestyle Resort offers accommodation within the grounds of Loučeň Castle and just 50 km away from Prague. It offers a restaurant and a lobby bar. Guests can relax in an indoor pool and sauna or in a natural swimming pond- both are for an extra charge. You can choose from contemporary rooms in the modern part of the hotel, or rooms with luxurious antique furniture in the castle complex. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. Some of our rooms are equipped with the air conditioning. Hotel Maxmilian has two restaurants. One of the restaurants is the buffet restaurant Ferdinand. Buffet breakfasts are served here, as well as buffet dinners (usually on weekends and main holidays). The second restaurant is the à la carte restaurant Maxmilián, which is primarily intended for those who came to our resort to enjoy romance and want to enjoy sitting with a good glass of wine and selected dishes. The Maxmilián restaurant has a capacity of 68 seats and it is good to reserve a table in this restaurant in advance for the evening. There is a lobby bar serving coffee and cocktails, and a cosy lounge room with an open fireplace. With good weather, you can take a romantic walk in the landscaped park.

The spa massages were a real highlight, very relaxing and worth having. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was quite good. Lunch was decent with a reasonable range, though nothing particularly memorable. Dinner was less satisfying for me because there were no vegan options. Our group had an enjoyable stay at Maxmilian Lifestyle Resort. The staff were friendly and tried hard to help, though some had limited English and communication could be difficult. They were accommodating overall, and we’d recommend the hotel for a comfortable visit despite a few minor issues.

There are lots of lovely natural areas around the hotel, and the interior is clean and well kept, with plenty of places to sit indoors and in the garden. The staff were friendly and cooperative, and it’s easy to spend time here with a group. The hotel restaurant serves very good meals, while breakfast was moderate. Guests can visit the neighboring castle for free, and the hotel lends bikes at no charge. There’s also a children’s room. The pool costs extra, but it’s beautiful and luxurious, with warm water facing large garden windows; the saunas are beautiful and well equipped. I was very satisfied and surprised by how beautiful and luxurious the hotel was. One small drawback: the bedsheets were dusty and had someone else’s hair on them, some room walls were dirty, and the breakfast cutlery wasn’t very clean.

The restaurant was a little pricey, but the food was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. There’s plenty to do at this resort, and the free parking behind closed gates was great to see. It’s far from city noise, and the staff were awesome, with everyone speaking English, which isn’t something to take for granted in Czech. My one small complaint is the sound insulation: the neighbors in our room were a bit loud.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the place itself is nice, but the service and food quality were terrible. During our stay nobody from the hotel staff asked if everything was okay. The dinner buffet had very little choice and the narrow space made it hard to get through. Breakfast needed improvement too. Lunch took far too long despite the restaurant being empty, and we asked for water or drinks three times without receiving them. The steaks were overcooked to well done, even though they’d asked how we wanted them, and nobody checked whether the food was satisfactory.

Good location and good value. For two people, 200 czk for pool and sauna access is a great price, and it was nice to have breakfast included. One waitress in the restaurant wasn’t very hospitable, maybe she was having a bad day. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.
