Grid Hotel

Breakfast was disgusting. The choice was very limited, there were no condiments, and the cakes looked as if they’d fallen on the floor and been picked up for serving. The room walls might as well have been cardboard. I could hear every step from the family staying below me. I asked to change rooms in what looked like an empty hotel, with just one car in the lot, but was told the only option was three floors down, among a supposed group of tourists. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. If you want something ironed, you have to pay. Want to do it yourself? They’ll bring the iron up, for a fee. Even the Ritz Carlton doesn’t charge something this ridiculous. I’d avoid this place like the plague.

There’s nowhere nearby to eat, and food is only served at set times. If you miss breakfast, which ends at 10 a.m., you have to wait until 6 p.m. for dinner. That’s not ideal when you’re in the middle of nowhere without a car.

Good experience overall, but the night receptionist acted like they owned the hotel. Rude and really inappropriate.

Just a three-minute walk from the paddock. The Grid Hotel is awesome, with a lovely room, a comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom.
