Hotel Kozák

It's clean and comfortable, in a good spot near town though not right in the center. There's also great tapped pilsner downstairs. The reception service was a disappointment, though. The receptionists seemed incompetent, with rules and administration taking priority over clients. What a pity.

A tidy, cozy place, though nothing especially memorable about the rooms. It's near a tram stop, so getting to the center takes about 10 minutes and is easy. The area stays peaceful at night, and there's a fantastic bakery around the corner. A good base for a day or two in the city.

After about six hours on the road, we were relieved to find a room late in the evening. Check-in and service were great, and the staff were very friendly. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed for the night. We grabbed coffee in the morning before leaving. The room faced the street with a metro line, so keep that in mind when booking. I'd recommend this as a good value place to stay.

The hotel has good breakfasts and a very friendly woman from Ukraine working there. It's quite clean too, though the sewage smell in the toilet was bothersome. That's the only negative. We arrived with three tired children after checking on the way in booking that rooms were available. At reception, an unfriendly girl first told us the hotel was full. I showed her the room listed as free on the booking service, and then she offered it, saying she did have the number. It seemed she struggled with English, but that's not really an issue if someone is willing to find a way to communicate. She wasn't.
