The staff did their best to make up for some shortcomings, so the stay wasn’t disastrous. I could see myself returning if I need a place in Caslav. The beds were uncomfortable, and there wasn’t a double bed. The decor and furniture felt dated, and the mannequins in pilot uniforms in the hall were bizarre and a little creepy. An interior designer could help. In winter, the heating struggled to keep up.

Breakfast is available to order. The guesthouse sits right on the square, and rooms look either over the square or the courtyard. Each has a private shower and toilet. Photos and noticeboards around the rooms and corridors have military themes, including aircraft and patches.

I stay here regularly for work and find myself looking forward to each visit. It’s a small, pleasant guesthouse, kept clean and in good condition.
