Cuba Bar & Hostel

The biggest drawback was the late check-in. I had to wait until four o'clock, and couldn't get in earlier. Still, this was one of the best hostels I've stayed in. It was clean throughout, including the rooms and towels, and the staff were friendly. The kitchen had a fridge, washing machine, and kitchenware, so you could cook for yourself. Prices were very affordable, and the hostel was in a sunny spot, close to shops and within walking distance of the city center.

The staff were friendly, and I liked the common kitchen. My shared room had four beds, plenty of space, and its own washroom, with a shared bathroom as well. The bar had a pleasant, distinctive feel. There was a wifi problem on my floor, though, and I couldn't check in until 4 pm when the hostel opened. The doors were locked, so I had to wait outside.

The receptionist was a very friendly lady. We only stayed one night, and it was fine, with a comfortable bed and shared bathroom. The place is very close to the center. We worried the bar might make the night noisy, but it didn't cause us any problems. The walls are thin, so you can hear other people easily. We were lucky to have considerate neighbors.

At 17 Euro a night, I can put up with loud neighbors and a small bathroom that has no mirror. The place was very clean, the service excellent, and the old furnishings suited the concept. The common kitchen had plenty of appliances, and the electronic keys were a nice touch. The bar was smoky, but had a great atmosphere and played great rock and metal. It's not a 5 star hotel, but that's why the rating is high.
