Baroko Penzion

I was looking for somewhere serving breakfast early, and this turned out to be a great find. I don’t think I could’ve picked a better spot. The owner was so nice and attentive, and there was a really good range of food. I had coffee and juice, fresh fruit, pastries, meats and cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausages, several cereals, and different breads. I liked it enough to come back two days in a row. It’s excellent value, too. They also serve coffee and lunch items. I didn’t stay here, but I’d definitely recommend the buffet breakfast.

We managed to get a room here at the last minute this past weekend. It was spacious, with two queen-size beds, a great view, and a really nice sunken bathtub. One bed squeaked a little. We loved the old-world, “baroque” feel, and the price was excellent for what we got. The staff were kind and helpful.

The cake was delicious, though it was probably store-bought. The coffee was average, and the service was poor. The only employee seemed overwhelmed even with just two tables of people. The decor looks very “regal,” but the castle-style furniture didn’t work well as cafe seating and wasn’t comfortable. I visited this new cafe in the afternoon. It only opens after 10am, once breakfast for the pension guests is over.

The location was good, and the staff were really nice. There was a good breakfast selection, including cereals, salad, fruit, and cooked food. The beds creak a little, and there were no smoke alarms, but otherwise it was fine.
