We booked two nights, but left after the first because of the problems. The owner wouldn’t fix anything or refund the unused night, though another family came straight after us and was charged too. The place was very dirty, barely any water came out, and showering was impossible, just a little washing. The mattresses were so uncomfortable I woke up aching all over.

The rustic knight-and-damsel look was a nice idea, but the bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine and other things. We were told the one private bathroom was shared by three rooms, something the description didn’t mention. We stayed just one night, which was enough for us. The kitchen and tableware were basically a kettle, dishes and utensils left on the table, and a refrigerator under it that didn’t cool and still had items from previous guests.

The place feels neglected, with cobwebs in the small rooms and a run-down garden full of mess, old mops in a corner and uncut grass. Watch out for the shared bathroom. There’s no fridge in the rooms, just a wine cooler that only gets down to about 8°C. It’s really only somewhere to sleep, and the medieval feel isn’t the appealing kind.
