The location is handy, with restaurants and shops only minutes away, and breakfast was good. The coffee was great, too. But the place is quaint in a roughing-it sort of way: steep stairs, no air conditioning, fridge or coffee service. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with mobility or heat-related conditions.

Everyone was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was convenient, about a five-minute walk over the bridge to the main square. But I was on a tour with another person and the room was too small for two. On my own I could have managed, but there was nowhere for suitcases, which had to stay closed the whole time. The bathroom was tiny, and I kept hitting my head on its sloping ceiling. I’d probably look elsewhere next time. It wasn’t a terrible stay, I just needed more space.

Pension Familia is in a great spot, and the place was nice enough overall. There are two parts: the main building with the office, and three units above the garage out back. We stayed in one of the back units, where there was no shower and they didn’t turn on the heating. We’d assumed it would come on overnight, but that was naive.

The location is convenient, but that’s the only upside. The service was terrible. The receptionist was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, and I don’t think she should work in a hotel because she gives the whole city a bad impression, not just this pension. I won’t repeat the details. I gave the place 3 out of 10 on the booking site, and a man even called to yell at me. It was horrible.
