Garni Mysí Díra

The balcony room felt peaceful, almost like staying in a lodge surrounded by nature. Breakfast was included and served in the next building. It was decent, and the stay was good value. A few things could be better. Not all the radiators worked, and around 5 am on our last day there was no hot water. I guess they were trying to save electricity. There’s no lift, though I think that’s common for accommodation here.

They may offer different dates, but if you’re visiting from another country and won’t be back in the area, that doesn’t help. You’re out of luck. I’ve never booked with a hotel in all our international travels that was so unwilling to work with a potential guest, even when offered a cancellation fee for the trouble. They’ll rebook your room and make double the money. Be aware that they charge your card right away and won’t consider circumstances like a trip cancellation or other unforeseen issues, even if you need to cancel two months ahead.

The service staff were extremely rude. They weren’t polite and spoke in a commanding tone. I even suspect serious racial discrimination. This left me with the worst impression of the Czech Republic, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

In a beautiful town, the location is perfect. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely come back.
