Pension PREMIUM

We booked a single night, but the room was freezing. We spent four hours trying to get a heater and more blankets, and couldn't reach anyone. Neither our attempts nor Booking.com’s attempts got a reply from the host. A message finally came at 2am, after we'd already left, telling me to turn on the heat. Of course we had tried that as soon as we arrived. With just one small blanket and a little electric heater under the window, it was too cold to sleep or get comfortable, so we had to leave for a hotel. They refused to refund us. Three weeks later, they're now charging my credit card even though I couldn't stay in this horrible place. Beware of using a pension or hostel in this city. They're connected with Hostel Merlin, so beware of them too.

A lovely place to experience traditional living. Everything was clean, check-in was simple, and everything worked. The little shops are very close, and there's a takeaway cocktail bar on the street corner. The stone house stays cool inside, so we didn't need air conditioning. It was a refreshing change when coming in from outside.

The hospitality was nice, and you can have breakfast in the garden, though bees might join you. We stayed in the attic, where one twin bed and one double bed felt a bit cramped for four people. It wasn't cheap, but the location was good. Getting to the parking lot takes about five minutes on foot, including a climb up stairs.

The historic feel suits the city, and the location right in the centre is great. They let us check in early, too. The room was a bit cold at the end of September.
