We paid, but couldn't check in. When we arrived, there was no response or message, so we called the hotel. They said booking.com had overbooked, asked us to cancel first, then told us only a four-person room was available for 110€. We felt forced to move to a more expensive room and pay extra because they had no room available. The whole thing felt like a scam. They said they'd refund the cancellation fee on Monday, but never did. Why not refund it the same day? We eventually chose to leave because the accommodation wasn't worth 110€, and we were so angry we'd rather sleep in the car. After seeing other travelers describe similar bad experiences, I really don't recommend this place.

This was the worst place I've ever stayed. I'm a solo traveler, and had booked and paid through Agoda for one person for one night. I had an Agoda confirmation letter with a signature, but they said they hadn't received any confirmation and wouldn't let me in. I arrived at 2 o'clock, an hour before check-in, and waited outside. Around 2:30, a woman came to the house. She said she was the owner, though she looked like she only cleaned there. She didn't speak English and was rude. She said there was no booking for that day and I had to leave immediately. I had nowhere to go, and I had paid, so I couldn't explain my situation. We argued for an hour because she wouldn't use Google Translate. I felt confused, unsafe, and offended by her reaction and attitude. After scolding me for half an hour, she was joined by another girl. Talking with her, I found out we'd both been booked into the same room on the same night. We had each paid through a third party, Agoda and booking.com. The woman kept saying she had no bookings and that we had to pay cash or couldn't come in. Since the place was far away and hard to reach on foot with luggage, the other girl and I paid 50 Europe crash for one night. The room was dirty, and the door was broken. When the other girl showered and closed the bathroom door, she couldn't open it again. She was stuck in the toilet for an hour, and no one helped us. I paid €50 to sleep with a random girl I'd just met because of the double booking. Agoda now won't refund me and wants proof, but I have none because they made us pay cash. I think it was a scam. Please don't stay at this hostel. They scammed me for €100: I paid through Agoda and then another 50 in cash at the house. As a solo female traveler, I felt so unsafe, and the woman was so rude. I never expected to pay €100 to sleep in an unclean room, sharing a bed with a stranger because of a double booking they wouldn't admit was their fault. Such an unpleasant experience.

A really nice place. Highly recommend!

The room was generally clean, though the beams and pillars in the double room weren't very convenient, and there weren't many places to charge devices. Anyone thinking of staying should check those details. We were grateful to find a room at a reasonable price during a special holiday season, which helped with our trip planning. But the stay itself was extremely unpleasant and nerve-wracking. The hotel was some distance from the city centre, and with transport in high demand for the holidays, we couldn't get a taxi through our usual apps like Bolt. A Czech friend had to book one for us. We arrived around 3:30 PM to find the door locked. We hadn't been told how the accommodation worked, whether there was a front desk or self check-in, and had received no instructions. We called the hotel's number, but no one answered. Another group of guests managed to reach the owner and get their keys. One of them kindly helped us get keys too, despite the language barrier, but we couldn't be sure they were for our room. The festival parade was about to start, and we'd flown 15 hours for the event, so we hurriedly dropped our luggage in the room and went into town. It took me about 30 minutes to walk there with a 75-year-old, compared with roughly 15 minutes for an average adult. On the way, I kept trying other ways to contact the host and emailed to ask whether we had the right room and could leave our luggage the next day. The host confirmed we were in the right room and said they would come and handle it. By then we'd already left the accommodation. I explained that in a reply, but heard nothing further, including about the luggage. I spent the festival waiting for an answer and couldn't fully focus on the activities. I tried again at 10 am the next morning, still with no response. Feeling uneasy, we cut our trip short and went back to collect our bags. We encountered other guests who also couldn't reach their hosts. The whole experience was confusing, unsettling, and truly bizarre.

The guesthouse is reasonably priced, and you can park right there if you arrive by car. It's about 20 minutes on foot from the historic centre. A Coop supermarket is roughly 5-10 minutes away, with bus stops nearby. Local buses go to the bus station, where a bus to Budějovice runs about every hour, and to the commercial side of Krumlov, where you'll find shops such as Kaufland, Lidl, Penny, Tesco, and Takko. There are other everyday comforts in the area too, alongside the historic attractions people come to see. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, always available and happy to suggest excellent local restaurants. Service was excellent. The rooms are cozy, with a large bed, electric kettle, tea, internet, a fan, and an electric stove. I recommend this guesthouse.
