Penzion Kapr

The river and the hills around town looked amazing from my window. I also liked the room's furniture, and it was clean. Breakfast suited me really well, with tasty local cakes and fresh fruit.

We were welcomed pleasantly, and there was somewhere to leave our bikes. The place by the river is lovely, with the bridge into the old town nearby and the castle easy to walk to. Our room and its amenities were clean, welcoming, and nicely furnished. Breakfast was included and very good.

Kapr is right by the river, just beyond the old town, so it’s easy to get around without the noise and bustle. Rooms on the first floor and above have lovely river views. Ours was quite large, with a huge bed and a modest bathroom. The coffee and tea facilities are outside the room, but easy to reach. Breakfast was simple, though tasty. Parking was the main downside. The spot is about 200 metres away, not in a dedicated garage, and costs just under 20 euros, which felt pretty expensive. If you have a wide car, getting into that space is almost impossible. The streets you need to drive through to reach Penzion are really narrow. There’s no A/C in the room. Penzion sits mostly in the shade of the hill behind it, though, so it shouldn’t get too hot in summer.

We arrived an hour late, and the owner was angry about it. He kept us waiting for 1.5 hours, then started telling us about his private life and what we were supposed to do. When he began shouting and threatening to throw us out, we gave up on the stay and found somewhere else in the middle of the night.
