The cottage might work well for a big celebration, maybe New Year’s Eve, but I wouldn’t choose it for a week-long holiday. The apartments have some built-in drawbacks: low doors, steep dark stairs, and showers and toilets placed in living areas. The whole stay felt a bit like being in the Wild West, and at this price I don’t think it’s worth it. There are practical issues that could be fixed, like room doors that won’t open and the toilet door, which is reached from a bedroom. The stove also has electrical problems, so you can’t turn on several burners at once. Instead, there are signs telling you whether the toilet is vacant or occupied and what you can use in the kitchen to avoid blowing a fuse. A lot of things need replacing or renovating, including the cutlery and cutting boards, plus a rotten table and a grill that looks ready to fall apart. The owner’s constant warnings and instructions also made me feel more like an intruder than a guest. I understand not wanting the property damaged, but I was worried about showering in case I’d have to pay for the water or burn out the pump. I didn’t want to go near the tipi because breaking it could cost 20,000,-, and even swimming in the pool came with house-rule instructions.

The kids had a lot of fun with the activities in the garden, and the rooms were well equipped. We spent a week there with friends and really enjoyed it. There were good facilities for relaxing, and a nice surprise was getting service from our father at the pub tap. It was just the kind of holiday we wanted, and we’d gladly recommend it 👍🤩

The saloon pub was the one thing that stood out, though you have to pay extra to use it. The price felt completely out of proportion to what was provided, and the owner was unpleasant. We were there in July and it was very cold. The heaters mentioned in the listing weren’t there. It was damp too, with nowhere to dry off if you got wet. The mattresses were old and had hard springs. One apartment had the shower in the hallway, and in the other it was between the kitchen and the bed. Such a disappointment. I don’t recommend this accommodation!!!

The ping pong table was the only good thing for us. Nights were cold, and despite the heaters being listed in the equipment, the owner didn’t give us any. It was very humid, and the owner was extremely arrogant and unsympathetic. I really don’t recommend it. Sleeping was hard too, because you could feel the feathers inside the mattresses!!!!
