The owners and their daughters were very kind, and the enclosed yard is lovely. The owner who cooks also did a good job, though one of the owners seemed rather grumpy, perhaps he was just having a bad day. Those things helped make up for a lot, but at this price I expected more, and I’d only suggest staying here if you’re really in a bind. The guesthouse looks nice from outside, but inside it feels dated, as if it stopped keeping up with things 20 years ago. The floorboards creak when you walk around the room, and traffic noise comes through the street-facing window. People sit outside drinking beer and smoking, and the smoke drifts into the room. The worst part was the thick dust on the bathroom fan right above your head. I’d prefer a smaller breakfast with fresh choices instead of getting the same cheese and spreads again from the day before. I’d give it three stars and hope they make bigger changes. It could be run with more heart.

The grilled camembert was the better dish, but the potato pancakes were the worst I’ve ever had. We ordered them with sausage and some kind of mixture, though what arrived was chopped sausage with lots of garlic. The pancakes seemed to be made from a mix, which didn’t help. We stopped here because we’d been cycling all day and didn’t feel like searching elsewhere. The service was nice, but the food let us down. Next time we’ll go somewhere else.

We came back after a year and had another lovely week here. The beer was cold, the food and desserts were really tasty, and we slept well. We were very happy with our stay and recommend it.

The food was overcooked and overpriced. That famous pot, at over 100 CZK, was lecho in UHO, or universal brown sauce. Nothing much to recommend, and definitely not worth a detour off the main road.
