Spa hotel IRIS

We booked the package advertised as a “relaxing stay for two,” with photos showing couples having treatments together. But most of ours were scheduled 30 minutes apart, and apparently there was no way to have them at the same time. When we asked if anything could be adjusted, the receptionist just said “no” or “fully booked” without really trying to help. Another staff member also didn't speak English and didn't understand why we expected to share the treatments. The facilities seem designed for one person at a time, which makes the website's advertising very misleading. The service was already disappointing from arrival. The receptionist was unfriendly and didn't speak English, so even simple interactions were difficult. She wrote my personal details incorrectly on a form and insisted they were right when I pointed it out. I came with my boyfriend for a relaxing weekend, but the stay didn't match what was advertised, and the poor service made it even more disappointing.

The room was nice, everything was clean, and the location was great. Breakfast had a good range, and there was still plenty left even when we came just before 10. The staff were very polite and spoke Russian, English, and German. The spa was nice but small. One thing, though: there was no thermal water as mentioned. In the evening we were told the fountain runs during the day, but when we checked the next morning, it was closed again.

The room was laid out thoughtfully, and the heated bathroom floor and towel rack were a nice bonus. Breakfast was good, and dinner for 400 korunas was good value, especially with no other restaurants nearby. We stayed four nights. The wellness area has two saunas, a small pool kept at 30 degrees Celsius, and a whirlpool. It's enjoyable if you're there alone, but with other hotel guests around, the small space feels a bit awkward.

The WiFi was the worst I've ever had. It couldn't load even one page on my phone, so I had to use roaming data for a week. The breakfast juice machine was disappointing too, either the juice was too diluted or the machine wasn't working properly. Still, the staff and procedures made the stay amazing. Dr. Yuriy, the nurses, and the whole team were warm and professional, and made it feel worth coming back for. We'll definitely be back.
