The food was awful, and the service felt like what you'd expect in a price group 3. I'd eat somewhere outside the hotel.

I was a schoolgirl of sixteen when I stayed here in November 1989, and I still remember the place fondly. We were housed in a separate pavilion for young people. Since it got dark early, we weren't allowed out after dinner, and we crossed the park to the restaurant for meals. I had a doctor's prescription for treatments. I liked most of them and had each twice, except for the Scottish caps, which I didn't enjoy. The mud and bubble baths were the best. Treatments took place in different buildings, so we had to hurry through the park, sometimes going from one to the next in quick succession. We ran around the park and fed the squirrels. They were so cheeky they jumped on us several times. I also remember going to a treatment near the pastry shop and envying people who could stick their noses inside. I was still at school and didn't have much money then. I'd love to visit Františkovy Lázně again someday. I really liked it there. I still remember the kind older doctor who did my entrance and exit examinations. At the time, we didn't like drinking the springs. We were very happy with our weekend at the Melodie Hotel in Františkovy Lázně. It's an older building rather than a modern concrete block, and it has a welcoming, homely feel. Our room was nice and clean, with renovated furnishings. We only had breakfast, but there was plenty of food and a good variety. The staff were warm and helpful, always trying to meet guests' wishes. Getting into the hotel from the parking lot or the main street is wheelchair accessible, and there's an elevator. It's in a quiet spot, still close to the centre. I stayed in room no. 6. Though called wheelchair accessible, I couldn't turn around in the room or hallway on my own if I were using only a wheelchair. It's small and cozy, and while the shower and toilet are great, washing there takes an assistant. It would also be narrow if you walk with sticks. The staff were a real bright spot. The maid, dining room waiter, and cooks were all willing and accommodating. I have allergies to gluten, soy, milk, and mustard, and they went out of their way to help, even though I hadn't told them ahead of time. Please let them know about dietary needs in advance so they can prepare. They still handled mine skillfully and clearly, and I'm sincerely grateful. The elevator broke during a terrible storm, but was repaired the next morning. Thanks and high praise for that. I recommend this hotel.
