Pension Erika

We had a very nice room with a balcony and a plentiful, good breakfast. It’s a wonderful walk to Franzensbad, a lovely place with beautiful parks and plenty to explore. We were very happy with the accommodation and would love to come back. Highly recommended. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

The lady who checked us in, possibly the owner, was very friendly. The rooms look newly renovated, and though they’re simple, they’re clean. The restaurant is closed, unfortunately. Breakfast was very meager and nothing special, and the breakfast service was very unfriendly.

We last stayed at Erika in 2023, and after years of visiting regularly and at short intervals, we can’t recommend Pension Erika anymore. It seems to have changed a lot recently, nearly all for the worse, and it’s no longer possible for us. We remember it as a much friendlier, more positive place. There are plenty of other friendly guesthouses in town and nearby with good service. I’m not sure why my old review wasn’t published. It seems nobody wants to hear the reality. Ahoy, and have fun in Franzensbad.

We booked because the guesthouse advertised a café and pizzeria, but both are closed. That meant going out every evening to find somewhere to eat, which was a real shame. I think guests should be told about the closures when booking, and I won’t book here again. The room itself was tidy, towels were changed often, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast, though, was very uniform and only brought out of the fridge when we arrived, so it was ice cold and not pleasant.
