Restaurace a pension Chalupa

A nice spot for getting away from the crowds, only a few minutes from the castle. The local food was really tasty, and everything we tried was done well. It’s pet friendly too. Nothing to complain about, I’d recommend it.

We finally had time to stop for dinner on our way to Beroun after passing by a few times. It turned out to be a lovely surprise. We ate inside, where everything looked clean and fresh, with bright floral tables that reminded me of an old English tea room. The meals were cooked perfectly, and the menu had plenty to choose from. Great food, service, value, and atmosphere. Prices seemed average for Czech, but the value made it feel like a really good deal. There’s a seating area out back with a children’s play area, while the front has outdoor seating and lovely views for anyone wanting a quieter setting. The place isn’t far from Karlstejn, so it’s worth a detour if you’re visiting the area. We’ll be back, this time with the grandkids too.😉

There’s a lot of honest work in making this clean, beautiful place feel like a cozy, attractive inn, and the service is friendly and quick. The main drawback is that it comes across as amateurish. The food sits somewhere between everyday home cooking and an effort to look fancy, and the interior lands between “my mom did it” and “Austrian hoch kitsch.” Maybe choosing one direction more clearly would help. Prices range from “OK” to “really, here?” Even so, it’s one of the best places to stay and eat near Karlstein.

Those chips and onion rings were just right with our drinks, and the cocktails were delicious. The service was fantastic too. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you 🍻🍹
