Hotel Prácheň

Room #1 needs quite a bit of work for what they charge per night. It's very dated and uncomfortable, though a few small fixes could already make a big difference. The lighting is extremely dim, almost cellar-like, and the high ceiling with bare walls and floor makes everything echo. There are hardly any usable outlets: one by the TV is far from the bed, another is behind it, and the bedside lamp's cord won't reach an outlet. The closed window squeaks loudly when the wind picks up, the bathroom mirror is awkwardly placed, and the WC door bumps into the radiator before it can open fully. Breakfast is a mixed bag. The scrambled eggs are good, but everything else was just okay. Dinner and lunch were much better. The pizza, salads, and meat dishes were all very good, and I'd happily come back for a meal, even though the food is on the expensive side.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my one-night stay. My room was simple, but perfectly fine. Breakfast had a good range of choices, was kept in good shape, and felt like true 5-star quality. I ate at the restaurant both the day before and the day after. The first visit started with delicious soup and continued with a wonderful dinner. On the next day, I had a tasty hamburger. Five stars for the restaurant too.

We had a great stay on our motorbike trip through the Czech republic last year. The bathroom was clean, and our room was spacious and quiet, facing the back yard rather than the street. We actually had two rooms joined by a separating door, so I didn't have to hear my brother snoring in the other bed. Since the hotel is on the town's main road, I'd guess the street-facing rooms might be noisier. Our motorbikes were parked behind the property. I would've liked the gate to be closed, but it wasn't. We got in too late that evening to try the pizza. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very modern, and the service is friendly and great. We had amazing food at the restaurant. The pizza is just like the original Italian style, and the pasta was good too.
