2/10
The room was awful: no proper windows, just a small skylight, and it got very hot. The walls were dirty. After I asked why the price differed, the owner became rude and visibly annoyed. The whole stay felt unpleasant, and my 5yo asked why the room looked like a prison cell. There’s potential here, and the location is great, but the conditions felt like a run down hostel at a premium price. The hotel’s conversion rate added 10% to the price we booked on the booking site. I was told the confirmation price was only “informative” and that I shouldn’t be surprised. They also only take cash, supposedly because there’s no signal in the historic building, even though my phone showed full LTE and Wi-Fi coverage. The local cash point charged another 8% commission. 🥴

We enjoyed staying at Hotel Dorinka. It’s a small, clean, comfortable hotel right on the main square. The restaurant was very good, and its menu was surprisingly extensive.

Friendly staff and a handy location made this a good place to stay. The rooms were clean, the value was good, and the hotel has plenty of history.
