It feels like being at home here. The place is peaceful and quiet, and though the guesthouse and rooms seem small, everything is laid out efficiently. A lovely, restful stay.

The guesthouse has a clean, well-equipped kitchen and dining room, plus a pergola for sitting outside. There’s also a cellar in the garden where you can taste some excellent wines. It’s a beautiful place for a vacation, close to Laa an der Thaya thermal spa and well placed for trips to Mikulov, Znojmo, and other lovely cities. We’ll definitely be back.

Getting to the well-known cycling routes is quick, and Therme Laa spa is about 10 km away. The accommodation is well cared for, with a kitchen where you can prepare all your meals. In warm weather, you can sit under the pergola, and when it’s bad out, there’s a dining room for about 16 people. The natural wines from Mr. Texl’s cellar beside the pergola are the special draw, with an extraordinary taste and selection. The downside is that there aren’t many of some kinds, and you have to book the accommodation far, too far, in advance because reservations are so dense. Great for relaxing with a wine tasting.

The setting feels cozy, though it’s definitely not cheap. Mr. Texl was a pleasant, very helpful host and took us through a tasting of homemade wines. They brought out taste buds I didn’t know I had. I’d definitely recommend leaving with a bottle or two.
