Really dirty, and a very bad place.

The guesthouse is easy to reach and has parking, and it’s close to the square, castle, tapestry workshops, shops, museums and an ATM. The staff were helpful and always happy to suggest trips. We paid for a discounted half-board stay and spent 4 days (3 nights) here, so it was a real bargain. We weren’t expecting miracles and ended up pleasantly surprised. The room was simply furnished, clean, and had its own bathroom. We could see the castle from the window and the Nežárka River from the corridor. Food was average, but we ate everything, and the soups deserve praise. Breakfast was the one thing I’d criticize. It’s all set out on the tables ahead of time, and the lady usually doesn’t clear things properly, so you can’t tell if someone already ate your prepared plate or whether you’re drinking from a used mug. Having the “breakfast ration” brought over after you sit down would at least give a better impression. The restaurant, including the restrooms, could also use more regular cleaning. All in all, the price matches the quality, and I see no reason not to come back. Quite the opposite.

The location is beautiful, and the manager and the woman who served dinner were pleasant. But the facilities and the attitude of some staff weren’t so good, and I’ve stayed in much nicer guesthouses elsewhere for the same price. We were there for just 2 nights. I don’t know what the mattresses are like in the other rooms, but ours were almost nonexistent, and I think staying longer would be a health issue. The woman at breakfast was unpleasant. Unless you arrive at 8 o'clock when breakfast begins, there’s almost nothing left to eat, and you only get half a cup of coffee because they’ve run out. A guesthouse in such a location should be a better standard.

We returned the rooms and stayed elsewhere for the same price. I was supposed to stay here on Saturday as part of a group of 20, but it really wasn’t possible. I’ve never seen such filth, dirt, mold and mustiness. The hallway sanitary facilities were in a disastrous state, and so were the rooms. I don’t understand how the owner can offer this, especially at those prices. I miss the minus stars a little bit.
