The friendly, welcoming staff made me feel at home, and the hotel restaurant was great for lunch or dinner. Breakfast was a highlight too, with lots of sweet and savory choices, good coffee and a warm dining room. The rooms were spacious and clean, though the buffet of drawbacks made my fall stay less comfortable: it was cold, the radiators were chilly at night and only somewhat warm in the morning, and there was no kettle or coffee maker. The shower was broken, so I could only take a bath, and the cold bathroom radiator didn't help. Wi-Fi was flaky, with Netflix and YouTube videos timing out or pausing. The hotel is on the main square in the pedestrian zone, right in the heart of Jindrichuv Hradec. There's a small underground garage that needs to be booked ahead, as well as public parking. The building is an unassuming remodeled old place surrounded by narrow cobbled streets, which also means the rooms aren't especially bright. They might be more pleasant in warmer months.

The location is great, but the hotel feels old and outdated. Our room was on the second floor, which was a bit of an experience. The room itself had old furniture and stains. Breakfast was mediocre, with little choice, though I suppose that fits the price.

A sweet old-fashioned hotel right in town. They stored our bikes, and the beds were good.

The setting in the lovely centre of Jindřichův Hradec is superb, but I found little else to like. Our apartment had a window set dangerously low for children. The main light didn't work, there was no socket by the bed, and the nearest one was broken, so I had to move a heavy piece of furniture to charge my phone. There's no air conditioning, and everything looked about 20 years old, while the prices didn't. The breakfast eggs were revolting. It's amazing how badly such a simple dish can be ruined.

The room I got wasn't the same one I'd chosen on Booking, and the prices felt too high for such old furniture and interiors. Still, everything was clean, the staff were polite and welcoming, and breakfast was good. They also welcome dogs 👍🏽
