The location, price, private social facilities, Wi-Fi, and spacious main room are positives. But the hygiene was awful: mold in the bathroom, dirty and neglected windows and frames, and second-hand furniture and bathroom equipment. The separate beds were narrow and hard. The main room had only flickering fluorescent ceiling lights, while bright outdoor lights came through the curtains all night. Other guests made noise and carried on until 2:30 a.m. In the shared kitchens, there was hardly any equipment, just an electric hot plate and a kettle. For me, this was the worst place I've stayed, almost like a camp. One night was more than enough punishment. Having the room lit all night felt like being in a prison cell from the Protectorate or Communist era. I won't be back, thanks.

It's an easy place to use as a base for trips, and I definitely recommend the dormitory. The center, restaurants, and the castle are just a few steps away. The price is low, you get a room with its own bathroom and toilet, and there's even a fridge. Parking in front of the dormitory was no problem for us.

The bathroom was moldy, and the heating didn't work. We were told after contacting reception that nothing could be done about the Wi-Fi because our room was too far away from it. Some rooms apparently have seven people sharing one bathroom, and their Wi-Fi doesn't work at all. We had one of the better rooms, but it still hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests: there were used clothes in the wardrobe and drawer, and the lamp was missing from the directory. The dormitory's online presentation doesn't match what it's really like. Unfortunately, you can't give less than one star.

The area is in a quiet spot, yet almost in the center of Jindřichův Hradec, and staying here isn't expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by the reconstruction into Švec dormitories. Back in the early nineties, this was the abandoned Švec barracks that we guarded as soldiers.
