Chalet Joseph Mine

The chalet wasn't ready when we arrived, and the cleaner was still there for at least an hour. Our first night was a disaster. A friend got chlorine poisoning and needed emergency care. The whirlpool had a dangerously high chlorine dose, and there was no ventilation. At 3am, paramedics had to help our friend, who couldn't breathe. On top of that, the weekend booking fee was charged to my card twice. I'm still waiting for the money back. My advice is to find somewhere else to stay.

They charged me around 700 euro for somebody else's reservation, then after a long argument gave back less than they should have. Huge disappointment.

There were eight of us, including three children, and as soon as we came in we were hit by a terrible smell. The previous landlords had a dog, so it may have been wet there all week, which could explain how foul it was. The cleaning was poor, if it had been done at all. There was black mold all over the window frames and in the jacuzzi. It was extremely unhygienic. At first, communication with the owner was fine, though only by SMS because they didn't answer calls. The cleaner came back and said she couldn't clean because she'd had abdominal surgery. No other cleaners were there, and we weren't offered another solution. We had to leave the house. The owner and I agreed in writing that we'd get our money back, but once we'd left, I couldn't reach them at all. They still owe me 2600 euros. I've sent several emails and SMS messages and got no response. I want people to know through this channel how worthless and nonchalant the owner is, and I hope nobody ever rents this property. Today I'm going to look into it with Booking, because it's a lot of money for a holiday.

The place felt more like a damp shack than a luxury chalet, with black mold throughout. The six of us struggled up a dilapidated driveway and found the house at 31 degrees Celsius, damp and feeling close to 100% humidity. It smelled of chlorine and mold, and the upstairs windows were fogged from the moisture. The whirlpool water looked as if it hadn't been changed properly. We can see why there were hardly any upstairs room photos. There was old, broken furniture, unexplained stains on the floor, and a punishment room called "Harry Pottera." In the kitchen, the fridge was dirty, the dishwasher didn't work, and there were food scraps stuck in the table cracks. We hadn't known dish soap salt could cause mold, but Daniel's accommodation proved us wrong. We want to warn people that this is more like a moldy hut than a luxury chalet, and it's a health hazard.
