It’s by the river and surrounded by a park. The walk to hot springs number 1 to 5 takes about 25 minutes, mostly along a beautiful forest path beside the river. You can watch the ducks swimming, and if you’re lucky, you might even cross paths with a beautiful fox.

We had a great stay. The room was exquisite, and the view from the balcony was so beautiful. The reception ladies were very friendly and helpful, especially the young lady. I’d consider coming back in the future.

The staff and food were a real highlight at Richmond hotel in KarlovyVary. The food was very tasty, and the restaurant and kitchen staff were friendly. Special thanks to Tanya for looking after us so well, and to Lana, who gave a very professional massage in 1A room 9. The swimming pool staff were friendly and helpful too. The reception girls were also very helpful and tried to accommodate our requests. Our room was clean and spacious, and the cleaning ladies were fabulous, always smiling. I’d recommend Richmond hotel as a nice, friendly place to stay, but management has a lot of work to do on the treatments. Some didn’t feel worth the time or money. The inhalation treatment was eight minutes of cold steam, which I don’t think has any effect and could be done at home. The Schottische Spritzen treatment wasn’t what it should be, and some staff gave it for eight minutes while others did it for much less. During oxygen treatment, we were left alone in a room with masks. After 25 minutes, we found that oxygen was leaking. We couldn’t find any staff for 50 minutes, so we left after being in the room for an hour and 20 minutes. I hope management improves the quality of the treatments.

Everything else was okay, and I have no complaints about the restaurant or spa. The reception staff, though, were a nightmare. The women were angry, aggressive, and irritated. They gave us incorrect information, then showed open aggression and irritation. They’d do well to take a vacation, or better yet, retire.

The buffet had a great mix of hot and cold food, plus a salad bar, desserts, juice, water, and coffee. The problem came when the waiters, who spoke very little English, offered us drinks from the bar instead. Those weren't part of the buffet, so I ended up paying extra à la carte on top of the buffet price. That felt unfair.
