The location is lovely, and our room was clean, pleasant, and had what we needed. Maintenance could be better, though: the drains were slow and some bulbs needed replacing.

The service was friendly, and the location is central. The rooms and bathroom were okay, but the sofa was much too hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The towels felt brand new and should be washed before guests use them. Breakfast was basic, and the breakfast room could have a nicer atmosphere. From the outside the building looks well kept, though the entrance and stairs gave a poor first impression.

We booked six rooms as a group, and ended up canceling one because it was dirty and had no fresh linen. Someone at reception asked us to make the beds ourselves, but there weren’t any sheets to use. None of the six rooms could be heated because there was no electricity, even though they rely on electric heating. The TV only had a Czech music channel. The doors were another serious problem. The toilet door wouldn’t shut, and opening the bathroom and other room doors took a lot of force. We did as asked and locked the double entrance doors, but the front door could still be forced open. There’s no parking on the property either, and it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the public lot. I can’t recommend this hotel, guesthouse, or whatever it is.

The price for what you get is a real plus, and our room was spacious and clean in a central part of Karlovy Vary. The main drawback is parking. With the options nearby, you have to leave the car quite far away, and getting there with a stroller or limited mobility isn’t really workable. If you have a booking, you don’t need to pay to enter the spa area just to unload or load your luggage, though you may have to show proof of the reservation.
