Vila Daniela

Sadly, it could've been better.

The room was simple, nothing special, but clean and cozy. I slept really well in the soft bed under the down duvet. In the morning and afternoon, you can hear forest birds singing if the window is open. The curtains are great too, it stays dark during the day. It's a pleasant, quiet place, and the hostess deserves special praise. She's always ready to give detailed answers, whether you want to know where to go, what to drive, what to see or where to shop. When the child forgot his slippers, she brought a pair. Daniela greeted us warmly, though that wasn't really necessary. The central colonnade is a relaxed ten-minute walk downhill; going back up is a workout, though there are city bus route number 2 and a few others. I used the second one, which also goes to and from the airport. A great place to use as a base while travelling around Europe.

The owner is wonderful, born in Karlovy Vary, and knows a lot about the area. She'll offer advice and help. The rooms are large, sunny and clean, with an equipped kitchen, fridge, dishwasher and a bathtub. The big mirror opposite the tub wasn't ideal for some of us. Otherwise, we were very satisfied, even enthusiastic. It's downhill to the city, and the Hot Spring Colonnade and other sights are about 15 minutes away. The walk back is tough uphill, but there are plenty of local buses. Parking in the city is scarce and a matter of luck. The accommodation is on the outskirts of Karlovy Vary, above the main sights, with a view of the Imperial Hotel.

Villa Daniela sits above the center of Karlovy Vary, about a 15-minute walk downhill. The furnishings are modest, but everything you need is there. The landlady was lovely, and arriving later in the evening wasn't a problem. I recommend this place for a visit to Karlovy Vary. 👍
