A good spot to get away from the big city noise. The accommodation was good, with WiFi, a sauna, an outdoor grill and a playground for kids.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet spot surrounded by nature, with a stream a short way away where you can cool off. The caretakers were kind and gave us the key, and there’s a well equipped kitchen, plus room to toast food and grill. I hadn’t gathered from the description or photos that the beautiful tiled stove was awaiting reconstruction, so it’s just decorative and can’t be used for heating. The sauna costs extra, and the caretaker has to come switch it on for a set time.

There’s a sledding hill right behind the house, and a half day walk to the chapel Na Strčková is worth doing. We had a lovely week in Stanovnice, about 5 km from Karolinka. The cottage can accommodate 6 to 8 people, and has a sauna and heating stove. The showers even have a radio and foot massage :)

We stayed in the Javorníček log cabin, as shown in the photo. The nature around it was a real balm for the soul. The accommodation was great, and the friendly, helpful caretaker and his wife were ready to help with anything. I recommend it.
