Parking was a problem throughout the stay. We had paid for it, but there were no spaces, and at 1am we were still circling the streets trying to find somewhere to leave the car. The receptionist seemed not to care about customer service. Communication was difficult too: nobody spoke English, and the staff shrugged instead of trying to help, then carried on speaking Czech. We'd booked a 3-day wellness package at Hotel Central in Klatovy, but the spa was in poor shape. The pool was freezing, and though I complained several times, staff kept saying it was 28°C. The pool jacuzzi didn't work either. The sauna was supposed to be open all day, but we were told it only ran from 5pm to 10pm. Of the two saunas, one worked, and it was barely warm. The spa area was dirty, and the swimming pool tiles were rusted. The food was very low quality, nothing like what you'd expect with a wellness package. The whole stay was frustrating and not worth the money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a relaxing wellness break.

The hotel has the look of a place with a glorious past, and breakfast was good. I found it late at night when I badly needed a room. The concierge was very polite and helpful, and I was able to get a room along with a refreshing beer from the fridge behind the counter. ☺️

The hotel feels frozen in time and could use some maintenance. The rooms are basic, but have what you really need, and the thick walls meant I slept like a baby. It's close to the medieval part of the city. If you want to feel like a communist official visiting a remote kolkhoz, this is the place.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and really tried to make sure we were comfortable. That was one of the few bright spots. The rooms, though, are very basic, with worn furniture and decor that felt depressing. The interiors are outdated, and the hotel clearly needs a major renovation. The rooms reminded me more of workers' accommodation than a regular tourist hotel. It might do for a quick overnight stop while passing through, since it has the basics, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay. There's potential here, but it badly needs modernization to compete with other places in its category.

I slept peacefully, and breakfast was pleasant and met my expectations. Check-in was quick and easy. My visit was brief, so I didn't get to use the hotel's facilities, though I'm confident they would've been worthwhile.
