Kolín was a lovely quiet base, away from the tourist rush but still close to Prague. It took about 1 hour 30 minutes to get to the airport by train, including the 10-minute walk to the station. The hotel is right in the historic centre, with a warm, clean room and kind, friendly service. The internet was strong and reliable too, over 80 Mb/s, which worked well for remote work.

Breakfast was good, and I really liked the room with the bathtub inside. One catch: booking sites suggest there are parking spaces, including EV charging, but in fact there’s just one free reserved spot. There are inexpensive alternatives nearby.

The specially prepared breakfast each morning and the warm welcome from reception made this a lovely two-night stay. Everything here felt worthy of five stars, and I’d happily recommend the hotel to everyone.

The rooms have lovely decoration, and one even has a balcony. Breakfast was pretty standard, though, and parking was the downside. It’s on the street, and didn’t look very safe. This is a nice place, though it feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. Staff aren’t there around the clock, so they give you the main door key if you’re going out at night. Be ready for lots of narrow stairs on the way to the room.

Quiet, romantic, and full of historic character, with polite staff. Very friendly too, and good value for the money.
