Hotel Kurdejov

I only stayed one night for work, but this quiet, lovely hotel near Hustopeče made a great impression. The room was roomy, as was the clean, warm bathroom. I was a little surprised that the balcony was shared with other rooms, so our neighbors walked right past the window. Breakfast was just what you'd hope for from a buffet, with everything you need and some unusual jams, including cinnamon. So good. A romantic spot to consider if you're traveling around South Moravia!

The location is lovely and peaceful. Hotel Kurdějov includes a couple of hotels, and we stayed at Hotel Tenis. There was no receptionist there, so we had to go to the Wine Hotel to pay and check out, though they kindly gave us our room key at Hotel Tenis. The room had an upstairs area with two single beds, but don't expect much from the furniture. Cleanliness was just okay, maybe 6/10. There was no air conditioning or fan, and not many electrical outlets. No minibar or housekeeping either. The hallways and reception were dark, both morning and night.

There are plenty of sports options at the hotel and nearby, and it's a nice place despite looking a bit dated. Some staff members spoke English, though not many. In summer, the lack of air conditioning is a problem. If you open the window at night, the room fills with mosquitoes 😀

The one good thing was the breakfast. Otherwise, this place was a complete no-go: the bathroom smelled of sewage, there was no staff, and there was nowhere to get food in this ghost 👻 town. For what they charge, they need a major upgrade and much better service.
