Penzion Blanský Les

The homemade desserts alone are worth the trip. We also loved the pizza and the fantastic view. The rooms are beautifully built, and the owner designed the whole place. Dogs are welcome too. A real gem in the Czech countryside.

Breakfast and dinner on the terrace came with lovely views of the lake and garden, and breakfast included fresh, homemade cakes. The owner was very friendly and did everything to make our stay pleasant. Our room was tidy and well cared for, with its small space used efficiently. The price was acceptable for the region, though higher than the Moravian average, for example. The room for two was very small, so it felt suited to sleeping rather than spending much of the day in, especially if the weather was bad. The roof windows were set too high to see outside, which was a shame given the lovely surroundings. Most rooms are in the attic and can get quite hot during summer days, though opening the windows on arrival cooled ours enough for sleeping.

The room was clean, but there was no washcloth and the water pressure was low. There’s no air conditioning, and the farmer had just spread manure. Breakfast didn’t include eggs or coffee, and there were hidden charges. The pizza was so salty I couldn’t eat it.

The terrace was beautiful.
