Pension Rieger

Really good.

The place is lovely, and my room was clean. It was peaceful, there was parking, and I'd recommend staying here to anyone heading that way.

The room had what I needed for a night's sleep, though the water took a long time to get warm. The owner was a lovely, attentive woman, and the accommodation was clean and quiet. Breakfast felt a bit sparse: just two scrambled eggs for four people, no vegetables, and not much of anything else. She did keep checking whether we had enough or wanted something added, but personally, I'd rather there be a little extra without having to ask. I understand not wanting food to go to waste, though some allowance for that seems part of providing this service 😌

The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the guesthouse has parking, plus a garden with swings and a few toys for kids. Its quiet location was a real plus, with plenty of interesting places only 10-15 minutes away by car. Still, a few issues left us disappointed, perhaps because the recommendation had set our expectations too high. We could hear ordinary conversation from the room next door at night, so the problem was the soundproofing, not noisy neighbors. There were spiders in our room 🕷️, and we never had hot water in the afternoon on any of the days we stayed. Breakfast didn't feel worth the price. There was no bread or healthier pastry, just rolls and Kaiser rolls, no fruit, and limited yogurt and sweet pastry choices. The coffee was instant. It's a nice place in general, but those things took away from the experience.
