I’d put this at 3.5 stars if Google allowed it. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the food fresh and plentiful, as long as you eat meat and have no dietary restrictions. My main reason for coming was to warm up in the saunas, since Czechia is freezing in late November. The Finnish sauna (steam bath) was out of service for our entire stay. On our final morning, I was excited to try the others before we left, but was told all the saunas and the whirlpool were closed until 14:00 for cleaning. Why couldn’t that be done while they were closed to visitors? If guests have to miss half a day, they should at least be told in advance so they can plan. I asked reception about another hot bath advertised online, but was told it was reserved for treatments. So the other facilities can be out of service for days or closed for hours without notice, while that one can’t be made available as an exception. I don’t think that’s four-star service. There were no vegetarian dinner options, which seemed strange for a four-star place in 2024. When I asked the chef for vegetarian food, he gave me a plain chunk of tofu on a plate, with no dressing, sauce, or anything else. That didn’t feel like four-star service either. This is the only spa I’ve visited where there wasn’t a teapot or any other way to make tea, coffee, or another hot drink in the room. The bar is the only place to get one, and it’s open from 7 until 23:00 or 24:00. If you’re an early riser or night owl, there’s no way to get or make a hot drink, even when it’s freezing outside.

The food was okay, but the place really wasn’t. It feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere, the internet connection is awful, and I found a cockroach in my bed twice.

I keep coming back here when I need a quick recharge. The quiet, relaxing spa atmosphere and treatments help me rest and feel renewed, and the surrounding area is lovely for walks and hikes. The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff are always helpful, and the restaurant food is quite decent.

We spent a whole day here and booked several things, including massages, and every booking was absolutely stunning. The spa area isn’t open all day to people who aren’t staying at the hotel, which is my only disappointment, but we were able to arrange our bookings around the access hours. The place is beautiful and clearly set up to help you relax, and everyone working there knows their job. It felt like a day of luxury. We left completely relaxed and happy, and will definitely come back.
